Charles Darwin Research Station

Information:

Located on Charles Darwin Avenue in Puerto Ayora, Santa Cruz Island, it is a biological research station established in 1964, operated by the Charles Darwin Foundation. This place is famous for raising giant tortoise hatchlings in captivity, known as Galápagos tortoises, which have an average lifespan of 150 years.

The station features a natural history interpretation center and conducts educational activities supporting the Galápagos National Park service. It is also a hub for foreign scientists who come to the islands to work on special research programs.
